So, big news. I got a call this morning at 8:00am (good thing I was awake!!). I will be starting at the dentist's office on August 29. That means I'll work two weeks after I get back from vacation and that will be it. It's a pretty bittersweet thing. I haven't told anybody here yet because just yesterday afternoon they asked me (my assistant manager and the head teller) they asked me if I had heard back from the dentist and I said no, that I hadn't heard back from them so I was assuming that that meant I didn't get the job. But, this morning, all that changed. So now I feel kind of bad b/c when I told them I wasn't leaving, they were both happy and saying "yeah, she's not leaving us" etc. So, I mean, I'm looking forward to the extra money and the getting off at 1 on Fridays, and the hour lunch. The only down sides are that: I'll have to learn how to do everything (work with the computer system mostly). I feel like I'm just now getting used to everything here and feeling confident that I'm doing it right and everything. But, I'll learn quicky I hope! Also, I'll really miss the people I work with here. They're (almost) all great. Really fun, nice people. But, since I'll be off early on Fridays, I'll be able to stop by every once in a while! I'm also not really looking forward to the early hours. They open at 8:00. Which means we have to be there around 7:45, which means I have to get up WAY earlier than I have to here at the bank. But, that's okay. I need to get disciplined anyways. That'll make me get up earlier and be less lazy. So anyways, we'll see how that goes. Dr. Garner mentioned that they have the 90 trial period and at the end of that time, we'll both sit down and talk and if we both still like it, then I'll stay there. If not, I would just look for another job. But by then, it would be almost spring semester so I would be starting at UAB....maybe I'd be able to find a teaching job... Who knows. For now, I'm going to get used to the early-morning idea (and the early Friday idea!!). Rachel has said that it's the easiest job she's ever had so that will be nice. I can only imagine that it's not near as stressful as the bank (not that the bank is all that stressful, just around Christmas). Anyways, I better get back to work.
